a hard way to go
hey all
new comic page is up for ya. im really getting a workout on action with this arc and hopefully you're enjoying it? hopefully things don't feel too one-sided or predictable? it's really difficult to gauge from the pov of the writer/artist lol.
thank you to everyone who boosted or participated in kei's fundraiser last month. he's not relocated out of poland yet, but mostly because of the pandemic. he's using the time to get his degree and to make his family aware of his future plans. he can get his degree online now with some of the money - the rest he's holding in reserve in case he needs to just. yknow. pack up and bolt to save his life. there's what seems like weekly alt-right marches thru his town at this point... but now he has the ability to flee if it comes to that. and that is a huge improvement over before.
in positive news here, a new kitten has arrived in our home. her name is audrey (audrey ii, actually) and you can see her on my insta. she was born stray, and the shelter had her shipped north from tennesse. so she's a bit skittish, but adjusting well. ren could care less about her. luna is a jealous baby. pretty normal.
in health news, i finally got an endocrinologist on my care team again. my blood is generally healthy, according to the latest labs, but my kidneys are less functional than before. they're at 83% functionality which is still good and all but like... that's what a 65yo's kidneys are at. both my gp and the endocrinologist are pretty sure it's just aftermath from the chemo. i'm trying to hydrate extra and make sure i do cardio to increase bloodflow in hopes it helps. but who knows. late october i'll get another blood test and we'll see where we're at then.
depression has been kicking me around, as i'm sure it has a lot of people. so i'm going to cut this short here and instead just paste the bail fund/street medic fund links again. please, call out your friends and relatives when they say or do racist things. america is absolutely sick and it cannot get better if white folks continue to be so conflict-averse that we let neonazis poison the minds of everyone around us as long as theyre doing it in a 'socially acceptable' way.
