Inhuman update!
(and the inks are over here on DA)

i'm going to try to keep this quick because i have a copy of pokemon white 2 calling loudly to me at the moment. but this page did scan a little blurry for reasons that are not yet clear to me.

there's art from me in the wanderers section and fanart from keetah and eluvion.

also excuse me a moment here because lots of registration deadlines are coming up this week and i won't get another chance to say this, so...

attention americans

if you live in one of the following states:

arizona
arkansas
colorado
DC (by mail)
florida
georgia
hawaii
illinois
indiana
kentucky
louisiana
michigan
missouri
montana
new mexico
ohio
pennsylvania
texas
utah

your voter registration deadline is OCTOBER NINTH. that is TUESDAY.

if you live in one of the following states:

idaho
new york
north carolina
oklahoma

your voter registration deadline is OCTOBER 12TH. That's FRIDAY.

if you are from deleware your deadline is saturday the 13th

who you vote for is really not my concern, and if you write in "turtles in pajamas" on your ballot for who you cast your votes for hey, more power to you! BUT. a lot of these ballots include things like BALLOT INITIATIVES and you probably DO want to vote on those because they directly effect the laws of your home state.

like for example in my home state, we have one where we're voting on if it should be legal or illegal for private mechanics to be allowed to fix cars. obviously i think it should be legal cause who the hell has money to pay a dealership every time? but every state is different.

so uh yeah. registering this year is SUPER SUPER EASY cause you can do it online. someone said they did it in like less than five minutes. here's some sites you can use to register (spyware free)

http://www.gottaregister.com
http://www.rockthevote.com/home.html

if you've ALREADY REGISTERED, DON'T REGISTER AGAIN. it'll invalidate your current registration and you won't be able to vote in november.

also remember that registering as a party doesn't obligate you to vote for that party. if your parents are pressuring you to register with the Rolling Tomato party and you'd rather vote Orange Popsicle party, you can make both yourself and them happy. also if you register as a Normal Pokemon party member but two days before the vote they say something really wretched that makes you want to vote for the Fire Pokemon party instead, you totally can.

apologies to those already registered, i will be posting these entries through the month as deadlines for various states draw near.

alright. time to go start pokemon bw2 so i can transfer my glorious bug team in.

Inhuman update!
(and inks are on DA)

i know what you're thinking. a comic before sunday? WITCHCRAFT! WHAT SMALL PART OF YOUR SOUL DID YOU SELL FOR THIS, ICARUS?
pretty sure it was the part that liked kiwi. not sure if i like kiwi anymore.

anyway, the page is up early this week because we're being dragged off somewhat against our wishes (help) to martha's vineyard to spend time with my maternal family (seriously, help). we'll be back around monday, if the car's iffy brakes don't give out and send us careening to our deaths on the road (honestly, this trip is a bad idea. send help.)

i'd type more but apparently my sister seems to think that making my phone shriek with text messages every ten seconds will somehow make me more inclined to head out faster. it's extremely obnoxious. she will not stop. seriously. three times alone just typing this paragraph. send help.

if you think you can rescue us from family members by somehow being out on the vineyard yourself this weekend, @ me on twitter and we'll do our best to meet up with you.

until then, there's fanart by Tydusis and two pieces by me.

may not be safe for work, one contains blood )

that's all i got for now. see y'all next week
help

edit: HEY SO THE BRAKES WENT ON THE CAR THE MINUTE WE MERGED ONTO THE HIGHWAY. SO I GUESS WE'RE NOT GOING TO THIS FAMILY THING??? OUR RETURN HOME WAS AT 30MPH AND IN EXTREME TERROR/STRESS. ALSO THE BIKE RACK CAME UNDONE. FORTUNATELY WE ARE ALIVE AND THE CAR DID NOT CRASH INTO ANYTHING BUT UH WOW

THAT WAS NOT THE HELP I MEANT, WHOEVER SENT IT.

Inhuman update!
(and there's inks over here if you so desire)

sorry that this is a day late. it was actually finished early on sunday, but i got derailed by real life stuff and so it just sat on top of my scanner until this morning.

i suppose the first thing you will notice when you go to look at this week's comic is the enormous banner urging americans to register to vote. you can actually register online now! how cool is that, you don't even have to go out or spend a stamp! you can do it from my site (the white house developed a code that can be plugged into anywhere - blogs, sites, whatever!) or you can use the official white house registration site at gottaregister.com.

which probably leaves you with some questions about voting/registering/parties/whatever. i'll be glad to answer them if you leave a comment on this entry!

so anyway, back to the comic. i did talk at length about what i was trying to do/not do with parts of this page. it's not one of my best, i probably should have just made the first six panels larger and junked the last four all together. OH WELL. next week we'll do better, yeah?

and i guess i should take this time to say goodbye to comicrank.com :< i will miss you, comicrank. it was the only comic listing system i really liked, because it didn't request readers to click links or vote to tally numbers. it just passively collected stats and based your rank on that. since codes can be written to artificially climb ranks on voting sites, i just liked that better. i'm sad to see it go, it was a good site.

anyway in terms of fanart this week there's art by keetah, Eluvion and a newcomer named Claire! go check them all out, all three pictures are p awesome.

that's really all i got until next week. remember to register to vote if you're an american! and if you have a few spare bucks, please remember that LLK still desperately needs your help.

and as for me, i'm going to draw a bunch of zombie aliens. later!

Inhuman update!
(and the inks are over here)

not a whole lot to say this week. summer's ending, and fall is coming. this last month was extremely hectic and i kind of came out on the bad end financially for it, but there's not a lot i can do. oh well.

i'd ask y'all to use the tip jar on the site, but before i do, there's someone who really needs it more than i do. jazaaboo has run into some major medical bill related trouble regarding three life-saving hospital visits she had to have in a very short time. at a loss for what else to do, she's hoping for people to help her out. so if you have a few bucks to spare, please send it her way. if you can spare 30$, she'll draw you something super pretty.

other than that, hope you've all had a lovely summer. hope fall is even better. yes.

Inhuman update!
(the inks are over here too)

i actually got this up yesterday, but i wanted to make sure the site itself was updated before i posted this. and now it is! so horray!

first off, the guide to Contura is up for all to see. i'm sorry that took so long. i'm working to get the wallpapers and another fairy tale page up ASAP too.

there's also a bunch of fanart! check out stuff by eluvion, sahtori, noserdog and aspect!

there's also a mess of art by me. lesse here.

safe for work, yessir. )

i've got the script for the next page of Unintentional Mishaps, and it will probably go up sometime next month. but for now, yep, let's enjoy the start of a new arc :>
not_fun: by seb (cial ponder think how why where who)
okay, the splash image for arc 11 is on the site. i'm sorry it was so late.

it looks like the only thing i can really do at this point (though i WILL try to get the comic done this weekend anyway) is consider this week a wash. if you donated last month, please come by the livestream on next wednesday and watch your sketch requests get drawn live, okay? i do apologise for this month being so hectic and the email not going out...i vastly underestimated the impact of family visiting for two weeks.

anyway, back to the grind! see y'all soon with a comic!
not_fun: by skulldog (cial bree headphones music listen)
Inhuman update!
(and the inks are up on DA for y'all)

i apologise that this is all i have for you this week, no mishaps or fairy tale. i was kind of derailed by incoming family members and preparing for their visitation. the visit went fairly well! a lot better than i expected, to be entirely honest.

i talked a little bit about ruri's binoculars here, and also went on a small rant about timing with props that was spawned by a really awful webcomic i read recently that is making chekhov roll in his grave from lack of use of their estbalished gun in scenarios a gun would be uh. useful in. prettymuch it boils down to OH MY GOD DON'T INTRODUCE PROPS YOU AREN'T GOING TO USE ESPECIALLY IF THEY'RE SOMETHING AS ATTENTION GRABBING AS A GUN!

oh, and if you can't wait for me to finish drawing the images that go with it, the rough draft of the contura planetary write-up is here!

for fanart, there's one from garuda and one from tydusis. check 'em out :v

safe for work arts, ayup )

before i vanish for another week, let me talk about two fancy science things!

first off, did you know a young lady in egypt has theorized and applied for a patent on a method of propulsion which will, if it is built, completely revolutionize space travel? it's really quite stunning! she doesn't have a lot of cash, though, and neither does her school, so it's uncertain when or how this will be developed. but i really hope it gets made soon!

i had some simpleton argue wthat her theory is "impossible" because the only earth based technology capable of producing her theorized fuel (quantum particles!) is the LHC. even if this were true and these particles were magically found nowhere else in the universe, it's assinine to say that the LHC means we will "never" bring that technology to space. the LHC is one of the first of its kind, and all technological forerunners are larger and ungainly than their later mass produced counterparts. need i point you to ENIAC?

so this girl's idea is brilliant, she is brilliant, and i hope she becomes absolutely famous and rich for her concept. good on you, kid!

the other majorly awesome sciencey thing is abotu some GMOs! you know i love GMOs. GMOs are our friends! modifying a crop to resist a drought is a REALLY GOOD WAY to avoid what we're dealing with now (a food price spike because corn crops cannot yeild in such dry conditions). to suggest that GMOs will KILL US ALL OMG WE'LL GET POISONED AND MUTATE is just as idiotic as saying jumping in a pool of toxic waste will give you mutations and superpowers. please. knock some sense into your head, GMOs are brilliant and wonderful things.

like my new friend the medusoid! bioengineered as an early step in using GMOs to develop treatments for heart disease, the medusoid looks like a tiny jellyfish. it swims like a tiny jellyfish. it probably tastes like one too! but it's been engineered from the cells of a rat heart, and that makes its DNA...a rat. SO LOOK AT OUR ADORABLE JELLYRAT! ITS THE CUTEST RAT EVER!

so while we're building jellyfish out of rats, what's going on with computers? well, i think the first true example of artificial life has been created. it's not self aware (to our knowledge) and hardly advanced, but baby steps man! you have to start with single celled artificial life before you really move into the big leagues, and that's what we've done.

neat, huh?

catch you 'round the solar system, space cadets.

Inhuman update!
(and the inks are over on DA par the norm)

first off, before anything else, i want to thank ANYONE and EVERYONE who donated to/promoted The Speedgamers during their pokemon marathon last week. they not only raised their goal of 50,000$ for ACT today but also raised an extra 9,000$ on top of it! and of course, caught all the pokemon. it was a great marathon to watch and i was really glad to be able to help and be a part of it on some level.

on that note, a ultra-quad-extreme-o thanks to the people who bid on my poison pokemon paintings. i'm not sure who the final winner was, but you guys were amazing. as a group, your bids on the paintings raised about 1800$ for the charity. that made me feel really warm and fluffy and have EMOTIONS about pokemon and pokemon fans. it was glorious, and you rock.

anyway, on to the comic. i experimented with two other pen colours this week (sepia and green) and i really do not know what i think of the sepia pens so far. i'm considering not using them in the future. any feedback would be fantastic, please don't hesitate to leave that (or critique) in the comments or e-mail.

i did write a bit about it on tumblr, but i rambled as usual.

for fanart this week, furor joined the archives with art of his awesome hybrid character along with hadrin's renditions of inhuman space ships! myxini mailed me two amazing shirts along with an adorable little piece of chuian art as well. be sure to check all of them out!

to donors from last month - your stickers and sketches (if you requested the physical copy) will be mailed later this week! i was going to mail them today, but then...it started to rain. walking to the post office in the rain with a bag of art is never a good idea, no sir.

oh and art by me?

nothing explicit, but more uptight workplaces might not like these pix on your monitor )

anyway, that's all i got til the next page goes up! i'll be making the end-of-the-month donation comic/widgit later today, i did lose out on a lot of work time because i was doing speedgamery stuff this month (and especially last week) but any help is appriciated.

later, space cadets! catch you on the dark side of europa!

more experimentation with a blue pen this week. please let me know your general impressions!

before i go any further though

THE SPEEDGAMERS MARATHON HAS STARTED!

they've already raised over 15k for charity as i write this, and they're aiming to make it to 50k by the end of the week. go donate! you get entered into awesome raffles (10$) and get art (15$) and get to name pokemon (5$)! also you might spot me in the chat.

remember that my paintings are one of the raffle prizes! if you forgot what they looked like, here's a reminder:

links to the larger sizes here

so come check it out! donate! name pokemon! it's for a great cause, and it's fun to watch.

okay, now on to the rest of the inhuman update. haha. sorry bout that.

there is an Unintentional Mishaps page up this week as well! poor mint, very boring in space.

this week there's fanart from garuda and chaz!

and art by me? okay

all safe for work )

oh, and this week Kyo answered questions about racism, the mite homeworld, LASER BLASTERS, earth's technology level, evil, hekshanian hearing ranges and hekshanian health!

in real world news, china is sending its first woman astronaut into space. so good luck, liu yang!

but does anyone else find it strange that as china progresses its space program, the US air force works on unmanned space crafts...?

anyway, that's all i got. catch you next week, droogs! be sure to check out the speedgamers!

(and if you didn't see it, the inks were on DA)

woopth. sorry for the delay in the blog post. the weather was nice, thundercats was bad, i just had other things foremost on my mind. but now it's a miserable rainy day, so LETS GOOOooo

straight out of the gate y'all probably noticed there's a different colour pen being used on the backgrounds now. i'm not certain if i'll stick with this or not, it's just something i'm trying out to help avoid the characters getting lost against the backgrounds. this isn't so much a problem for old readers (who know where to look) as it is new. and really a comic page should be engaging to old and new viewers alike because :o i dunno it just should

i talked a lot about what i was attempting with the blue pen and what i thought of it here and here.

there is detailed data on morbacks on the site now, though. so anything you ever wanted to know about sers' species, babam. enjoy.

for fanart this week there was stuff from blankd, delcat, garuda and dying dutchman. personally i like del's RADSLIME more than should be healthy.

there was no ask kyo last week because i didn't have the time to text up the drawn responses, but it's back on schedule for this week now.

i drew some things. not a lot, though.

all safe for work unless your boss hates fuzzy aliens )

i'd also like to draw your attention to the fact that right now if you make a minimum donation of 5$ to ACT today via the speedgamers i will draw something for you. for more details on that, check here.

PLEASE consider donating to TSG. it's for a really good cause, and 100% of the proceeds are going to ACT Today. plus you get to watch them catch pokemon! who doesn't love pokemon? :D

oh, and to readers off to that major convention this week, have fun! say hi to amber for me!
not_fun: yay (cial balloons party happy yay)
Inhuman update!
(and of course the inks are on DA)

there's also another Unintentional Mishaps page up!

i don't have a whole lot to say about this page. it just is what it is. i wish i could have got the lighting effects better but eh. i'll try something different next time, i guess!

anyway you may have noticed the Speedgamers Widgit on the site! this is because they're AWESOME! also they'll be doing a pokemon gaming marathon in about a week to raise money for ACT Today, but donating opened a little early. if you donate 50$ right now, you can name one of the starter pokemon :O if you donate 25, you can name a trainer. check it out, cause it's for a good cause. details are at The Speedgamers' Site.

back in the inhumanverse, this week kyo answered questions about religions in space, species food allergies, half-blood racism, hugs, 90s rappers, the shard and music.

this week's fanart is from Steph, Hazard, Wing Commander Rudoji, XMantisX and Dawn. wooo

All this week's art safe for work )

oh and last month's fundraiser? SUCCESS! not everyone used the chipin widgit to donate, but it totally was! so donors, hang tight while i finish up the sticker design for y'all - and then i'll shoot an email your way. non-donors? hang tight, because i'll have data on Morbacks up later this week and be working on another page of Fairy Tale later this month!

tomorrow venus lines up with the sun all pretty for the last time in any of our lifespans :O if you've got nice clear weather, you really should check it out!

that's all i got. later, space cadets.

i'm going to try to keep this short because uahgaghgggh i don't feel good. i didn't sleep last night cause i drank too much coffee trying to get the comic done on time and it's still a day late. that's what i get for experimenting. bluh.

as far as i know, all the donors who picked stickers should have them by now. as far as i know, only one sticker wound up on a DNA analyzer. the sketches will hopefully be coming along in the next week.

this week kyo answered questions about games he played as a kid, zombie apocolypse scenarios, cookies, hekshanian flaws, superpowers, clones and math. also grey answered a question about being blind.

lots of people drew awesome things this week. there's art by fry, 7luckz, maniac/keetah, aspect and adamska.

i drew some stuff too, yes.

all safe for work )

(and the inks are over on DA)

i'll try to be really brief this week, because it's alf's bday and i'd rather be spending time with him so yeah :o

okay as a huge shocker, i actually updated the fanart archives. there were somewhere int he vacinity of 90+ pics waiting to go up. THEYRE UP NOW THOUGH. give it a little browse. i also finally got around to updating my art archives, so there's that too. and there's a new fanfic by coyote caliente and a couple of icons floating about.

the chipin was a rousing success :O i'll be sending out an e-mail monday to the people who contributed, asking if they want a drawing or a sticker. keep in mind these stickers are going to be exclusive to monthly doners - you can't buy them in the shop and i won't be uploading the art to them. the only way to see one of these stickers is to contribute to the chipins at the end of the month! but yes. the slightest clue i will give, and that is this: it is sort of forensicsy related.

but there IS new art this week for everyone to enjoy (since i'm updating the galleries again) and here it is!

all safe for work. well mostly. kyo's getting drunk in some of these. )

and uhm, i believe that's it :o i drew a little filler this week for villain. which if you aren't reading, you totally should be.

Inhuman update!
(and the inks are up on DA)

greetings my fellow sasquatch. wait, you're not fellow sasquatch? FELLOW HUMANS (nice save, no one will ever suspect)

today is earth day. today i also updated the comic, but earth day is v important to me because i live on earth. earth day started largely as a result of the enviromentalism movement which started largely as a result of the US sending humans into space where we took pictures of our planet, our blue marble, floating in an inky sea of stars. the sense of scale caused a lot of people to realize we need to take care of our planet so it can take care of us. really, earth day and the push to explore space are intrinsicly linked. one spawned the other. so as much as i love staring into the stars, i also want to take care of our planet.

so today? walk somewhere instead of driving. turn off your lights early, turn down your heat, go for a walk in the woods if it's nice. plant some trees or flowers or grass or some other thing of your choosing. fill a birdfeeder, don't squash that bee/spider, and think about how great our planet is compared to some of the others not too far away. take care of earth and she'll take care of you. ignore earth, and well, we could be in for a short ride.

speaking of space and earth, there's something in the media that's bugging me lately. two people with a ton of money have finally proposed what scientists and nerds have been suggesting for years - that we begin mining asteroids for precious metals and resources. asteroids are in abundance (hell, we have two fields of them in our own solar system) and often contain things we could really use here on earth. but news agencies seem to be sort of guffawing at this, poo-pooing the possibilities. and that pisses me off. just because it SEEMS like science fiction doesn't mean it can't/shouldn't be done. would they have poo-poo'd the space program? the manhattan project? electricity? trains? planes? simply because something is the product of imagination doesn't mean it's not worth persuing. on the contrary, it means PERSUE THE HELL OUT OF THAT PROJECT. so i'm glad to hear that asteroid mining is finally becoming a seriously considered reality. now if the news would get their ignorant heads out of their asses, stop thinking with the heads of fifty years ago, and realize how great this is.

rarrr >:O

anyway. have a picture of grey.

also i'm raising money for the mortgage again. this month i figured i'd offer doners a choice between a free sketch or a free sticker? and if the goal is met, i was thinking about writing up a planetary information file on the nikitak homeworld. i haven't posted a comic about this to the site yet, but i will later on in the week (likely monday). but as before basicly i'm asking for donations of 1$, since i feel like y'know. a buck is fair, right? for the comic every month? i hope? :B

anyhoo, that's all i really got. hopefully i'll have a mint comic for you all next week, and there's also talk of site work going on next weekend. but we'll see how that pans out.

happy earth day, fellow earthlings.

(and the inks are right here)

hello my fine freaky friends. i haven't a ton of time to talk, so i'll abbreviate my alliterations and get to it.

first of all, sokki torka has issued a casting call for bit parts and one major part in Unintentional Mishaps. you can learn more about it (and how to get your character into his comic) by clicking here.

secondly, i am officially out of brown and a few other colours. the pens i ordered from pendeavours never arrived. you can read a little on my breakdown of pendeavours vs ordering directly from japan here. if you're interested in starting a marker collection or already use markers it's probably worth a peek.

and thirdly, one of my all-time favourite scifi artists died on the 4th. ralph mcquarrie, your work inspired generations of nerds and artists. you will be missed.

one of these days i'll upload art and stuff to the site. just like one of these days the new interface will be finished. blarg D:

some estute folks may have noticed a funds tally under the please-tip image on the main page. just fyi, that's not exclusively tips. if you commission me to draw for you or buy something from the shop, those funds also count towards the tally :o just makin sure that's clear.

it's right here in my hands and on my hard drive
but for some reason, my site keeps rejecting my login and telling me it is out of space (it is not) so i can't seem to get it uploaded D:

for now, you can view it on tumblr.

The page is up on the site now! and here are the DA inks, if your heart so desires. sorry bout that - i was trying to upload while the server was trying to back itself up.

also, ask kyo has moved to tumblr and is undergoing a few changes. but feel free to ask him anything! more complicated questions may not get an image, though.

(sabrous is also down, for an unrelated issue. wolfwings is off dancin it up at a con, and he'll fix it as soon as he regains conciousness XD)

again, i'm somehow swamped for time and can't update with the gobs of art people have been doing D: someday i'll get to it all. someday.

in the meantime, i talked at excessive length on tumblr about Mychenet, scans, and other worldbuildy things. nerdiest of nerds, i invite you to nerd out over there.

as for me, i gotta hurry up and get moving. it's already sunday and FREE TIME'S A'WASTIN!
