i made a kyo tea. delicious, if you are a complete delinquent who likes to get all hopped up on caffeine.
so i've been doing some note dumps for patreon, but you gotta be a backer to see em...SORRY. but i can conclusively say that a glass, magnetized drawing board i can write on in dry erase marker is the best thing that ever happened to the comic process.
this month's kind of a workaholic rollar coaster for me, since it ends in a cousin's wedding. and taking days off for family stuff always requires like, a months worth of extra work to get ahead. haaaaaaaa
i picked up the hardcover new 52 number 6 book...that's batman for people not in the know. it's good but not as good as 5...though 5 was mostly like, a linear collection of stories all in the same timeline and 6 just sorta jumps around. i do like that from what i've read the joker isn't so much a character as just an omnipresent force of nature lurking in the background you KNOW is going to cause shit. like seeing a huge storm coming on radar, but it's not there yet. which is probably a terrible metaphor considering that storms are their own thing in this batman.
i do really like how bruce is written for the most part though. they're handling the fact that he's ptsd really well and believably, and i dunno. it's nice. batman's always sorta been the hero of the ptsd sufferers (turning your bad brain juice into JUSTICE is something easy to identify with) but this time it's actually like out in the open and addressed. i like it.
i also really like the comic store we go to for not being mega judgemental that i can't remember author/artist names or even the series name (since it involves a number) and don't judge me when im like IM LOOKING FOR NUMBER SIX OF.....THIS........HOLDS UP BOOK. it's nice to know that in this day and age of like extremely cliquey and othering nerd culture, there's still small bastions where they don't care who or what you are, they're just glad to have more people enjoying comics.
