first off: the fight continues on the newest comic page

second: hahaha oh man i am living for the feds tracking down the white supremacists who tried to bust into the capitol. it is possible to think the feds are cops & acab and also have a sardonic cackle when they pull these people in for treason. my dad pointed out that so many of them when caught are clean shaven. like removing their facial hair is going to disguise them. lmao so dumb

still not stoked with biden resisting medicare-for-all in the middle of a pandemic. and also smh at his team believing there was some sort of secret covert pandemic plan that they'd be able to take over when they stepped into office. instead theyre all -surprised pikachu face- oh my god guys did you know there was NO plan!? and im like.... have u looked around urself in the last year.

another friend is in lockdown, another friend tested positive, a third friend finally got their vax... weird, mixed feelings. its hard to feel relief when nothing is actually fixed. tho, knowing folks cant -technically- fire queers for being queer anymore is nice i guess. unforc it takes a lot of effort to explain to ppl who arent affected by this that if a business really wants to fire you for being queer, they'll find other reasons to fire you. they'll nitpick your work til they think it looks legitimate on paper to boot you.

on personal plus-side tho, we finally finished refinancing of the house. this'll be a huge plus financially. it means i can finally get the materials to do some repairs too, once spring rolls around. and get ren a kitty dentist appointment. i love my gross baby renba.

may not have a third page this month (next week) bc with my bday coming up i kind of want to split the dif and get my other work done this weekend rather than focus on the comic and work thru my bday (as i would normally in a week). but next thursday ill be 39. that is ALMOST 40. i think that means i can be declared legally dead in most fandoms and the gay community, if i'm reading the room correctly.

tho... i think it is important for young folk to have elders in communities to look up to. like, teens should NEVER feel OBLIGATED to include an adult in their fun free time. if you're a teen cosplaying and a 20+yo tries to infiltrate your crew... yeah, thats creepy. but if you are a teen and you see adults in your fandom... thats fine. consider it proof there's life after youth. that you're allowed to enjoy things and chill w like minded individuals, that you dont ever have to be "too old" to enjoy costuming or fanart or whatever. and if shit ever hits the fan, like, say some absolute creepo shows up to your con and tries to promote neonazism or some shit? its the elders who are gonna have to take out the trash, and you absolutely should pressure them to do so.

or maybe i'm just thinking a lot about conventions and costuming lately because i've gone too long without it.

and adults? dont fuckin. dont talk abt your Adult Private Life shit to teens. cmon. youre just gonna wind up in trouble.

either way.... if youre a teen and you dont feel comfortable around an adult you should NEVER, EVER feel obligated to interact with them. that goes for me, that goes for teachers, that goes for anyone. you have a right to comfort and autonomy and a right to trust your gut impression of folks. but many things are enjoyable for all ages. soooo dont judge us elders so harshly for having fun w the same stuff you are. just ykno. be aware that if someone ignores your barriers you have EVERY reason to be like FUCK OFF U OLD CREEP or w/e.

wow this has almost nothing at all to do with the actual comic page. or maybe it has everything to do with the comic page! i will let you be the judge.

til we meet again
