hmm...lotta game related nonsense. the patreon situation sorted itself out (heather from HR is a total hero), which meant alf and i could get the Big Gift we planned on for months now. a wii u!! and mario maker. alf's been having a blast with it, and me i'm just like I CANT BELIEVE THEY RECYCLED MUSIC FROM MARIO PAINT YEEE. i've been told gnat attack is in there too. SOMEDAY, I WILL BE BRAVE ENOUGH TO PLAY IT...
but mostly i've been playing Don't Starve: Shipwrecked! it's in like...early beta release or something, so there's some Issues. but it's a lot of fun! i never got into vanilla Don't Starve and sorta cut my teeth on Don't Starve Together - which is p much like easy mode. but i also fell in love with the robot character there, and uh. well. robots and water don't mix.
and shipwrecked has A LOT OF WATER.
so it's been like suddenly EXTRA HARD MODE WOOOO
but i like it! something about the way your survival and the learning curb work out, it never feels like any given defeat is a rage-quit style defeat. more just like a 'okay, okay, i can TOTALLY AVOID DYING THAT WAY NEXT TIME' defeat. which for me is an unusual experience in games :O usually i just feel like a horrible failure and shouldnt sully a game with my ineptitude ever again.
so all that said...i made it to day 50! with wx!! and i had fun the whole time and now want to beat that high score! video games: dangerous to productivity
oh yeah.. i'll be at Anthro New England again this year. it's only a little over a month away, so if you wanna come hang out...better grab your registration :> it's a really chill con and i had a lot of fun last time!
