someone's got to keep the game fair
May. 1st, 2020 01:02 pmwell. so what the fuck is happening folks. sorry this page took so long. tax season after cancer, corona, cancelled surgery and just a weird bad childhood memory hit all at once and to be honest, im not entirely sure march or most of april happened.
but hey there's a new comic page
i'm doin better than i was (i think?) tho it def seems hard to come up with a stable metric to go by. hope you are too, dear reader, whomever you might be.
i finished the ffvii remake tho! at about 30 hours gameplay i will say that like, 25 of those hours are really really solid and perfect and delightful. but the last 5 you get an increasing sense that the game was not done even for a 'first disc only' remake. and this feeling gets worse and worse until sephiroth is basically just hissing at cloud IM NOT EVEN SURE IF WE'RE GOING TO GET TO MAKE THE REST OF THE GAME and youre like 'i know already but is that really an excuse to have a game-stopping reset-requiring glitch in the air ducts of the shinra tower'
i guess the best way to talk about the remake is to say when it's on, it's on. but when it slips up towards the end though it damn near ruins itself on impact. but for the most part it felt like a really good book-to-movie adaptation situation. if that makes sense?
eventually i'll replay it, but for now it's absolutely animal crossing time. like if ever any time was. it's now.
that and i'm trying to get back to reading the gormanghast trilogy. idk, it's like, a weird decaying castle where everyone is slavishly devoted to ritual and history and the prose is really kind of. dreamy? engulfing?? i'd call it flowery but it's not at all flowery. just the author goes on like long surreal descriptions of scenes just to tell you someone looked out a window but its enjoyable and i like it.
i wish.... i had a dog
til next time. stay safe everyone.
