May. 9th, 2026 11:32 ami'm listening to a b-horror movie about caves (Bone Keeper) which is really not my fav horror sub-genre. i think because i used to like going on cave tours as a child the idea of being trapped underground is actually unnerving lol
gigapet update! the tiger electronics star wars rancor gigapet is now 3 or 4 days old. i dont feel like checking. its name is ed. i have clipped it to my phone and it is proving a really fantastic and strong counter to the urge to refresh/doomscroll online. i got this lil guy right here!! also the clack of the plastic case is very nostalgic, it calms me down to carry around and hear it clacking. for NOW.
building a netbook update - did i not mention this last time? yea ok so i have this old win7 era netbook that i think got dumped with water, and i took it apart, and i want to see if i can get it running again with spare parts pulled out of other dead laptops over the last 20 years. so i ordered a new motherboard! but ... the seller sent the wrong one. so that project is, woefully, on hold. i wont know if the screen works til i get a mobo in!!
dad update wont be til monday actually. monday he'll meet with his surgeon and discuss when they are going to close the stoma. in laymans terms, returning his butt to functionality. i plan to be there for that surgery just cuz last time he had a little trouble waking up and my stepmom could use someone to worry with. as could i.
ask kyo update - this project is coming along quickly! just waiting to see if wolf can cobble together an engine to automatically display new updates for me. i have old ask kyos to fill the backlog with, and the site is basically built WITH the ability to dynamically resize to your browser window which is a big accomplishment for me. makes it a lot easier to make it compatible across platforms (desktop and mobile) as well. i feel a real sense of accomplishment when i build little websites like this and make them behave the way i want! i don't think i'll ever want to give that up to an AI. shit, i didnt even want to give it up to microsoft dream weaver lmao ANYWAY that's coming very, very soon. really could launch now if i wanted to manually populate the archive by hand myself every time. but i kinda do not lol
most of my friends are at FWA, and i really do feel bummed that i missed the maine furcon this year even if it was for a very good reason.
for now: catching up on owed work, finishing up some paintings, applying to events after summertime. money is very very tight but lol lmao what can u do
