not a whole lot to report on the comic front this week. other than a reoccuring numerical motif again. oh, and that raspberry maggot drew a lovely creepy picture of grey. yes <3
before i go any further, though, AMERICANS, ATTENTION PLEASE
this week is the voting deadlines for lots of states, and here's the breakdown:

who you vote for is really not my concern, and if you write in "turtles in pajamas" on your ballot for who you cast your votes for hey, more power to you! BUT. a lot of these ballots include things like BALLOT INITIATIVES and you probably DO want to vote on those because they directly effect the laws of your home state.
like for example in my home state, we have one where we're voting on if it should be legal or illegal for private mechanics to be allowed to fix cars. obviously i think it should be legal cause who the hell has money to pay a dealership every time? but every state is different.
so uh yeah. registering this year is SUPER SUPER EASY cause you can do it online. someone said they did it in like less than five minutes. here's some sites you can use to register (spyware free)

if you've ALREADY REGISTERED, DON'T REGISTER AGAIN. it'll invalidate your current registration and you won't be able to vote in november.
also remember that registering as a party doesn't obligate you to vote for that party. if your parents are pressuring you to register with the Rolling Tomato party and you'd rather vote Orange Popsicle party, you can make both yourself and them happy. also if you register as a Normal Pokemon party member but two days before the vote they say something really wretched that makes you want to vote for the Fire Pokemon party instead, you totally can.

now that we're through with that
so it's been about a week since i started pokemon black & white 2. don't worry, no spoilers! but i am at the elite 4 now, and tested them for the first time yesterday. the champion trounced me with their last pokemon due to a bad move on my part, but what i'm trying to say is: my awesome bug team is awesome. have some pictures of them!
but first have a confused genesect because man if i was woken from a fossilized slumber and then had a cannon grafted on my back i'd be confused too. poor genesect. you are not on my bug team but you are pretty cool by yourself.
so here's the first drawing i did of my team (minus one member) way back when i started bw2 on monday. there's kimig the accelgor, binx the sewaddle, zippy the larvesta and dego the durant. dego has carried this team for like half the game, durant is a fucking BEAST. you want a bug that can stand up to numerous rock attacks? GET YOURSELF A DURANT.
just beware of the fact that they are quad weak to fire.
and so is sewaddle (grass/bug)
which was partly why i got this fellow for my team! obviously he wasn't always a carracosta, but this is kingy. kingy is slow as sin except for one move (aqua jet) but serves a much, much needed function. bugs are weak to both fire and flying types and i did not have any way of getting water or electric moves on my team when i started out. i also wasn't really planning on getting a joltik because i had a bad experience with chargestone cave in bw1. anyway, the obvious solution to this flying/fire problem was a water/rock type. KINGY HAS SAVED MY TEAM'S BUTTS MANY TIMES
binx evolved REALLY quickly into a leavanny. i think he was a swadloon for like one level. anyway, binx is why i don't worry about rock types. leavanny's formidable speed and attack stats make leaf blade a pretty solid attack on any ground/rock types. plus, he knows some flying attacks. very handy bug, but levels way faster than the rest of the team which is sometimes problematic.
can we talk about accelgor a minute? while it has a totally insane speed, it has like zero defense whatsoever. that means really the best application of accelgor is to toss it out, do like one move worth of damage (say, toxic or spikes) and then use u-turn to get it out of there. kimig has really proven the greatest challenge for me to properly apply on my bug team, but i think on a team with FEWER bugs she'd probably have been very useful.
regardless, i really came to like accelgor through kimig. it's just so REDICULOUS. how does it move that fast? DOES IT RUN ON ITS STUBBY HANDS?

here's a team member i honestly didn't expect to have. i can't tell you a lot about it because it'd be spoilers, but i can't actually name galvantula because technically he doesn't belong to me. but right before i faced skyla, i ran into him. i found out who he belonged to, and i couldn't leave him in the box. especially not when i was raising a bug team, and about to face the flying gym leader. so he came along, about six levels lower than the rest of the team, and still managed to help trounce her.
after that he earned a place of honor. i also taught him bounce. which is adorable. jumping spiders just going POINGGGGGGG all over your pokemon game awww
and then there's zippy, fully evolved. she evolved on victory road, actually, so was a volcarona just in time for the e4...and keep in mind she was ported into the game at level 11 and used on every gym and battle except the first one. LARVESTA TAKES FOREVER TO LEVEL AND EARNS XP SO SLOWLY YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW. also has a very limited set of moves. but zippy managed to faithfully kick ass through the entire game.
zippy was actually the main reason i wanted a bug team, really. i raised a larvesta for dex credit in bw1, but had it on my team for so long to do so that i kind of started to bond with the weird slow-growing bug. but by then, i already had my main team selected and there was no place for her. i'm glad i actually raised her as a team member this time, because she's not only formidable...she's just plain cool. and fluffy. and adorable.
and that's my bug pokemon team :O
