dead mouse on the floor
Feb. 26th, 2023 10:45 amInhuman update
also found a dead mouse on the floor this morning. luna and ren have never dispatched anything larger than a moth in their lives so i know it's audrey's doing. a bloodthirsty onion.
though the nausea/dizziness/zaps of ssri withdrawal have subsided almost entirely, i'm in a phase where everything just feels like its cranked up to 11. just going around with gritted teeth everywhere for everything. every smell and taste and sound way too strong. guessing this'll just be my march. but at least i'm able to sleep through the night again. partly thanks to adjusting hrt to be weekly instead of biweekly, i think.
snow just keeps falling, too, and that's just... listen, could the universe just fucking Stop for a second? or maybe i dont know, have people actually lend a hand instead of see me as an object that gets them something they want and then has no emotions? thatd be great.
i finished jonny sims' new book, Family Business. I liked it a lot. not quite as much as i liked nona the 9th but it was a good one. i really liked the character xen, but i guess that's no surprise. if you dear reader liked the magnus archives you'll find the familiar and the strange in this book. it was a lot better than his previous book, 13 storeys. but i also tend not to like literary collections of short stories anyway so. ymmv.
also caught up on Our Unending Journey which is a final fantasy xiv fancomic, but is also just really nicely drawn and generally fun. the artist/author just finished the storyline of ARR for the characters. it almost makes me want to start a new game +... almost.
i've also added a few more original art pieces to the shop. not that they're selling particularly quickly, but idk. hope springs eternal. there's two older ones (the murderous meltbeast and little red ufo) and two newer ones (a painting of a tardigrade, and a painting of ruri the roger from the comic).
last week i had created a kind of 'every other comic scrap' zip file for download on itch.io, but spent the entire week thinking about things i knew were missing from it. did some digging around in old sketchbooks, did a lot of scanning, and shortly thereafter realized the zipfile was just becoming dauntingly large.
so i split it into two. one is the 'everything else' and one is the inhuman related scraps. i thought the scraps were fun because tbqh most of the earliest starts to the comic i had were before i had a scanner, and before i had internet at home. so there really was no incentive to draw these comics beyond that i wanted to and thought maybe someday i'd get somewhere with it.
still debating splitting off the kind of edgelord era captain N comics in the everything else file into its own download. but that would require remembering what year they were drawn in first. ugh. math.
dont really have much else to report. it's still 2023. that's still 5-6 years away from when i can stop taking tamoxifen. some days it feels like i'll die long before that. today's one of those days.
maybe next week will be better.
later.
