Inhuman update
(and inks over here)

also fairy tale page 8, thank you patrons!

today was a kinda rough week, and i'm getting pretty worn down from working my butt off. there was confusion with insurance and so alf got turned away at the physician's again, but hopefully that'll be fixed tonight when we go back. the kitchen sink's pipes froze, and there was an icile in the basement as a result, but that got fixed before it thawed and resulted in water damage. also a friend went to the hospital, but it's honestly a good thing that he did...though it's still kinda weighing on me and stressing me out. that like 'can i do anything' sense of futility, i guess.

my birthday's tomorrow, though honestly what i'd like more than anything is a break. i can't fully afford to take time off working, though, so...dunno. so it goes.

did a stream thursday, here's the taks from it:

yeah that's all i got. gotta get back to work now. props to y'all for stickin with the comic another year and all that.

oh yeah, i'm also on weasyl with a normal gallery and commissions now if you're into that.

In the next revolution, all the insurance processors need to be rounded up and shot, right after the lawyers (just kidding). All I can say is hang in there, what else is there to do, really. I just got discharged from the hospital Saturday, from having about a foot of my colon snipped out (technical term is "right hemicolectomy") :(, so it'll be a while till I'm back to full power.

It was not without its amusing aspects. I checked in Tues. at 8AM, and they were done with the actual operation by noon. From then on, it was a matter of waiting for my guts to "reboot", since as the assistant surgeon told me, "Whenever we do anything major to the digestive system, the whole thing freaks out and shuts down". So they had to keep me until they got the signal that my guts were starting to work again.
And what was this "signal" you ask? Wait for it... FARTING! Each time one of the physicians or nurses came around to check on me, one of the first questions they would always ask is if I had "passed gas" yet.
Finally, at 8:45AM Fri. morning, I farted (and there was much rejoicing). They started letting me eat stuff then, and once I had gotten through four meals without complications, they let me go.

So the moral of this story is when even a major surgery can be turned into a fart joke, life is OK :)
